ADULT FORMATION

St. Patrick’s offers a robust selection of Adult Formation opportunities. Groups meet on a variety of days and times to suit the needs of the adults of our community.

Adult Forum

Adult Forum is one of St. Patrick’s most popular learning opportunities and is currently held Sunday mornings from September until May. Adult Forum is open to all adults of of St. Patrick’s community. Adult Forum topics vary year to year, but always seek to be engaging both spiritually and intellectually.

*Currently on summer break.

“St. Arbuck’s”

The ST. ARBUCKS coffee group gets together in Dublin year-round, rain or shine, every Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Starbucks inside the Giant Eagle store at 6700 Perimeter Loop Rd., Dublin. We have plenty of space and flexibility AND we have room to continue to add new members

to our group.

Education for Ministry

Education for Ministry (EfM) is a unique four-year distance learning certificate program. Designed for all people of the church, EfM helps the faithful encounter the breadth and depth of the Christian tradition and bring it into conversation with their experiences of the world as they study, worship, and engage in theological reflection together. If you take all four years of the program you learn in depth about the Old Testament, New Testament, Church History, and Christian living.

Enrollment is open each summer, and new students are welcome each fall. Previous participants have included St. Patrick’s members and adults from other local congregations, including other Christian denominations. To learn more about EfM, please contact the church office.

*Currently meeting Tuesday evenings at 7pm via Zoom.

Later in the Day Saints Men’s Group

The Later in the Day Saints fellowship group meets weekly on Thursday mornings at 10:00am and is open to all men. The time they spend together has no formal agenda or specific calling. It is simply an opportunity to share experiences and knowledge about a multitude of topics.

*Currently meeting Thursday mornings at 10am via Zoom.

Men’s Tuesday Morning Group

On Tuesday mornings, a Men’s group meets at St. Patrick’s from 7:00-8:00 a.m. for fellowship and scripture discussion. The goal for the Tuesday Men’s Group, and the meeting format, is intended to be an opportunity for men of faith to casually gather and share an easy Scripture study. There is also a large amount of fellowship and laughter. Everyone is welcome and if you can join us once, once in a while, or weekly, that would be great!

The group has continued to grow, meeting weekly over several years. Using a simple plan, the group functions in a truly communal style with different men taking on different aspects of the causal agenda.

*Currently some of this group is meeting in-person and others via Zoom.

Women's Ministries

To meet the learning needs of as many people as possible, so St. Patrick's offers several small groups of primarily women called Sacred Circles. Sacred Circle groups have met using many formats. Groups have and

continue to meet in person only, on Zoom only, and by using a hybrid model that allows participants to join via computer connecting to an in-person meeting.

Health Ministry

Lissa Barker and Rose Walker have provided Wellness Words columns for the Breastplate each

month. Both Rose and Lissa are licensed Registered Nurses. Lissa is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner; Rose is a community health expert and so we have lots of expertise to offer. There are a variety of topics, all explaining various aspects of health with understandable and reliable information. The Wellness Words bulletin board is updated about once a month and provides information on healthy exercise, healthy eating, stress reduction, mental health, communication with persons with dementia, and reliable and accurate websites for people to use to get up to date information for healthy decision making.

Purls of Wisdom

After 20 years as an active ministry, the focus of Purls remains providing prayer shawls for those in need. Our group is small but devoted, only 4 active members. We meet every Thursday from 10:00-12:00 in the classroom across from the library. Any and all are welcome to join us. No experience necessary!
