Adult Formation

St. Patrick’s offers a robust selection of Adult Formation opportunities. Groups meet on a variety of days and times to suit the needs of the adults of our community. For more information about any of the groups mentioned below, including Zoom meeting links, please contact the church office.

Adult Forum

Adult Forum is one of St. Patrick’s most popular Adult Formation opportunities and is currently held Sunday mornings from 11:30 am-12:30pm, directly following Coffee Hour, during the program year. Adult Forum is open to all adults of of St. Patrick’s community. Adult Forum topics vary year to year, but always seek to be engaging both spiritually and intellectually. This year, Adult Forum is studying the Saints of the Church following the Celebrating the Saints course of study from Forward Movement.

*Currently meeting Sunday mornings from 11:30am-12:30pm via Zoom.

Education for Ministry

Education for Ministry (EfM) is a unique four-year distance learning certificate program sponsored by the University of the South. Designed for all people of the church, EfM helps the faithful encounter the breadth and depth of the Christian tradition and bring it into conversation with their experiences of the world as they study, worship, and engage in theological reflection together. If you take all four years of the program you learn in depth about the Old Testament, New Testament, Church History, and Christian living.

Enrollment is open each summer, and new students are welcome each fall. Previous participants have included St. Patrick’s members and adults from other local congregations, including other Christian denominations. To learn more about EfM, please contact the church office.

*Currently meeting Tuesday evenings at 7pm via Zoom.

Later in the Day Saints Men’s Group

The Later in the Day Saints fellowship group meets weekly on Thursday mornings at 10:00am in the church library and is open to all men. The time they spend together has no formal agenda or specific calling. It is simply an opportunity to share experiences and knowledge about a multitude of topics.

*Currently meeting Thursday mornings at 10am via Zoom.

Men’s Tuesday Morning Group

On Tuesday mornings, a Men’s group meets at St. Patrick’s from 7:00-8:00 a.m. in Smith Hall for fellowship and scripture discussion. The goal for the Tuesday Men’s Group, and the meeting format, is intended to be an opportunity for men of faith to casually gather and share an easy Scripture study. There is also a large amount of fellowship and laughter. Everyone is welcome and if you can join us once, once in a while, or weekly, that would be great!

The group has continued to grow, meeting weekly over several years. Using a simple plan, the group functions in a truly communal style with different men taking on different aspects of the causal agenda.

*Currently some of this group is meeting in-person and others via Zoom.

Sacred Circles

The women of St. Patrick’s expressed a desire to form Sacred Circles (Women’s Spirituality groups) that would be open to all the women of St. Patrick’s who want to participate. The purpose of the groups is to provide a community in which to share and navigate spiritual journeys and what connects us to the divine, as well as deepen our spiritual quests as they are enriched by our Christian tradition.

It is our hope these Women’s Spirituality groups deepen our relationships with God and with other women in the St. Patrick’s community, and include participation from women of all ages and backgrounds, no matter where they are on their spiritual journey.

*Currently there are five Sacred Circles Groups which meet at various times and on various days through out the month.
